Scope of our work
Each Cochrane Review Group deals with a different disease or group of diseases. The ARI Group's scope is detailed below. Once confident that your proposed review topic is within our Group's scope, please search 'Our reviews and protocols' to ensure that your topic does not overlap with other published reviews.
Scope
All controlled trials of interventions in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation (where applicable) of acute respiratory infections. The ARI Group is also responsible for diphtheria, meningitis, measles and chickenpox. Asthma, chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, acute respiratory distress syndrome (Airways Group), plague and tuberculosis (Infectious Diseases Group) are excluded. Surgical interventions and chronic problems relating to ears, nose and throat are covered by the Ear, Nose and Throat Disorders Group.
