Cochrane Acute Respiratory Infections Group

Scope of our work

Each Cochrane Review Group deals with a different disease or group of diseases. The ARI Group's scope is detailed below. Once confident that your proposed review topic is within our Group's scope, please search 'Our reviews and protocols' to ensure that your topic does not overlap with other published reviews.

 

Scope

All controlled trials of interventions in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation (where applicable) of acute respiratory infections. The ARI Group is also responsible for diphtheria, meningitis, measles and chickenpox.

Review authors interested in:

  • asthma, chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, acute respiratory distress syndrome should contact the Cochrane Airways Group.

  • plague and tuberculosis should contact the Cochrane Infectious Diseases Group.

  • surgical interventions and chronic or recurrent problems relating to ears should contact the Cochrane Ear, Nose and Throat Disorders Group.
